Hello everyone. Yep it's true. Due to the amount of work I have ( I work in the TV and Film Industries) and with M-DSB over 500 helmets sold so far. I'm closing this blog up. I just don't have the time now with my newborn, family and work.
I'm still involved with the 501st extensively. And I am heavily involved with charities as well...but it's a lot of work. We've donated more than a few thousand dollars worth of props to charities.
M-DSB went from being a hobby to a SPFX team here in Hollywood. So you never know how cool things will end up. Life is good...real good. I truly feel blessed.
To those of you starting your own little prop biz, it's a lot of work and you really have to baby sit the hell out of it, but in the end you might just make some money. Remember it's about having fun.
Keep forging forward. Make friends. And have fun. That's what it is about.
For all my friends around the Globe, I THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR SUPPORT! I'll still be around on Facebook and the 501st Forums as well trying to help my brothers out when I can.
Thanks for all the Love you have given me and my family.
On behalf of Baby Leah, Frani and Myself
G-d Bless!

Skygunbro does it again! The Animated Clone Pilot Helmet!
Hello everyone!
What's up?
Sorry I haven't posted in a while but it's been crazy with school and work...not to mention the holiday season!
I wanted once again to highlight one of my mentors. Skygunbro has been creating helmets now for about 8 years or so. He is one of the best in the fan made prop circles and one of the nicest people (as long as ya don't re-cast his work...if not ya better watch out!).
Right now, the Animated Clone Wars show is what people seem to be concentrating on and "Sky" is doing just that with his amazingly detailed Clone Pilot. Here is a peak at the Master and his work on the Animated Clone Pilot. You can see more of his work on YouTube.com. Feel free to contact him if you love his work as much as I do.
Skygunbro does it again!
I'll be adding videos soon to this blog with tips and tricks from some of the best in the Fan made prop forums.

From Republic Commando to Commander NEYO!
And now the transformation begins!
It's Mine!

...and the cutting starts.

The Tools.

I started out using a no. 15 exacto knife. I found that using this alone was not as conducive
as first using a no. 105 Dremel bit (engraver) and THEN using the exacto no. 15 blade over the
lines.

(See above) The lines aren't straight enough for my taste with just the no. 15 exacto blade.
No worries, I'll fix this with a little help from Bondo later.

This is the side I used both the Dremel no. 105 with and then the exacto no. 15. As you can see,
the line is cut much better. It makes a big difference using them both.

Side view.

I first drilled a few holes and then cut along the eye area. Then
I sanded it down.

It seems I'll be able to fit two 12v fans powered by a 9volt
without any issues. I was surprised I could do this, but there seems
to be enough room around the chin area. Ventilation can be a problem
on a bucket like this. I went ahead and also cut some vents from the
back area.

That's it for today kids.
